Money

De roepie is de munteenheid van India. Eén roepie is honderd paise.

De volgende munten worden gebruikt: 50 paise en 1, 2 en 5 roepie. Het papiergeld is beschikbaar in 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500, 1000 en 2000 roepie. 1 Indiase roepie is gelijk aan 0,011 Euro. 1 Euro is dus 91 roepie.

Gebruik: Je gebruikt 'used to' om te verwijzen naar dingen die eerst zo waren, maar nu niet meer. In het Nederlands zeg je dan vaak ‘Vroeger…’.

Hoe: used to + hele werkwoord (zonder to)

+ My grandfather used to work ten-hour shifts in the factory.

Bij vragende en ontkennende zinnen haal je 'did' erbij en haal je de -d bij 'used to' weg:

? Did your father use to wear a uniform at the factory?

- There didn't use to be a factory here.
