  • We have English class this morning.

Slide 10 - Slide

Present continuous

We use the present continuous for appointments and arrangements I have already made.

  • I am visiting my grandparents next week.
  • She is seeing the doctor tomorrow.

Slide 11 - Slide

Going to
You want to do something, but have not made any arrangements yet, OR you are making a prediction (voorspelling) based on evidence.

  • Look at those clouds, it is going to rain soon.
  • We are going to eat pizza tonight.

Slide 12 - Slide

Will / shall
We use will when we make a decision (beslissing) without having planned it, OR to make a prediction without evidence.

  • I think the weather will be nice tomorrow.
  • Wait! I will help you clean that mess.

Slide 13 - Slide

Ontkenningen en vraagzinnen
Bij ontkennende zinnen plaats je het woord "not" tussen "will" en het werkwoord.
They will not arrive on time. OF They won't arrive on time.
Bij vraagzinnen komt "will" vooraan in de zin.

Will they arrive on time?
Will you help me, please?

Slide 14 - Slide

Will or shall?
Will and shall mean the same, but we can only use shall when you have a question with the subject is I or we.

  • Shall I watch a movie tonight?
  • Shall we have a break?
BUT:
  • Will you come to the party?
