How do you make a singular noun plural?

  • shoe

  • books 
  • child - children

Contracted verbs 1
Contracted verbs is a difficult term for shortened verb.
the verbs to be and to have can be shortened

  • She's got four siblings
  • he's twelve years old 
  • I've ....... they're.........

Genitive/possesive 1
You use the genitive/possesive to indicate possesion 
there are two options; 

's

Genitive/possesive 2
You use 's for singular forms and names

The cat's tail
Lisa's books

You use 's for plural forms not ending in -s as well
The children's room

Genitive/possesive 3
You use ' for plural forms ending in -s.

The dogs' collar 
My parents' car

you can use ' for names ending in -s but you don't have to.
James' sister
