We gebruiken deze vorm van het bijvoeglijk naamwoord (Adjective) wanneer we dingen vergelijken.

"Meneer Dessens is langer dan zijn dochter."
"Mr. Dessens is taller than his daughter."

Comparative
We maken deze vorm op twee manieren:
1 lettergreep: adjective + -er  (taller)
3 lettergrepen of meer: more+adjective (more beautiful)

2 lettergrepen, dan meestal: adjective + -er (easier)
2 lettergrepen, dan soms: more+adjective (more modern)

We gebruiken deze vorm van het bijvoeglijk naamwoord (Adjective) wanneer we dingen vergelijken.

We maken deze vorm op twee manieren:

HAVE = HAVE GOT (bezit)
Ik heb een auto: I have a car= I've got a car.
Verschil wordt alleen duidelijk bij vraagzinnen en ontkennende zinnen doordat je wel of geen extra werkwoord gaat opschrijven om de zin kloppend te krijgen.

Present Continuous
Deze tijdsvorm  gebruiken we wanneer we in de tegenwoordige tijd het willen hebben over een activiteit. Wanneer je wilt praten over iets waarmee je bezig bent of wat je nu aan het doen bent.

In de Present Simple hebben we het vaak over feiten en gewoontes en in de Present Continuous (duurvorm) hebben we het dus over de activiteit.

Present Continuous
De vorm bestaat uit twee werkwoorden:
1. 'to be': am/is/are
2. ww+ing (het hoofdwerkwoord)
"I am writing this sentence."
"She is listening to the teacher."
"They are working on the homework."
