We just saw the word 'past participle', what is that again?

Do you remember what grammar we looked at before the break?

Ever, never, just, already, yet - what do these words mean again?

Slide 6 - Slide

A few questions transitioning from vocab to grammar - 2 min

4 min total

Grammar
Here are some wrong sentences using the present perfect. Write down the mistake and the correction. Notes, NOT book
1. Has she ever seen a ghost?
2. My parents have never fly -> flown in a plane.
3. Have you been to that new café just -> already?
4. Wait a moment! We haven't finished yet (2 mistakes)
5. I've never been to Paris.

Slide 7 - Slide

5-6 min until 09:26
To see if they remember some of the rules without being able to tell them yet, let students find the mistakes in the following sentences and correct them. All sentences have 1 mistake except 4, which has 2. They may use their notes but not their book.
Students may work in pairs and write down the wrong word and what it should be. They get 3 minutes for this (a bit longer than usual because they're not in the flow of the grammar anymore after the break)

Ask students what mistakes they found and how it should be corrected. 2 min

5-6 min total

Grammar: Present perfect
We use the present perfect to talk about experiences before now. -> I've tried rock climbing
You make it with have/has + past participle (3rd row irregular verbs or verb +ed) -> My sister hasn't slept in a tent before.

You do not use time expressions (yesterday, last week, etc.) with the present perfect. Only with the past simple.

Present perfect + 'yet' = ask/ - answer about time until now. Place just/already: between have and past participle
