Passive Voice

Which sentence is in the passive voice?

1. The farmer is harvasting the corn.
2. The farmer has harvasted the corn.
3. The corn is harvested by the farmer.
4. Harvasting corn is a heavy job.

Jack builds a house. (Put in passive voice)

1. A house is being built (by Jack).
2. A house was built (by Jack).
3. A house is built (by Jack).
4. A house will be built (by Jack).

Most people loved chickens. (Put in passive voice)

1. Chickens were loved (by most people).
2. Chickens are loved (by most people).
3. Chickens are eaten (by most people).
4. Chickens are being loved (by most people).

Cities did not recycle old machines.
(Put in passive voice)

1. Old machines are not recycled (by the cities).
2. Old machines were recycled (by the cities).
3. Old machines were not recycled (by the cities).
4. Old machines had to be recycled (by the cities).

The passive voice of this sentence is:
Tom paints the entire house.

1. The entire house paints Tom.
2. The entire house is painted by Tom.
