How do you use it?

A preposition is used to connect a noun or pronoun (its object) to other words in a sentence, showing the relationship between them. This relationship often involves time, place, direction, cause, manner, or possession.

The book is on the table. = Place
We will meet at noon. = Time
He walked towards the door. = Direction

A preposition must always be followed by an object; it cannot stand alone.
