How to:
  • Click on spinner 1. Click on 'GO!'
  • You will see the category that is requested.
  • Double-click outside the spinner.
  • Click on spinner 2 and click on 'GO!'
  • You will see the letter that the answer must start with.

Tips:
  • Clear the tables and chairs and place a bell in the middle of the classroom. The first to ring the bell gets to give the answer.
  • Divide the class into teams and have them compete against each other. Each correct answer is a point. Keep score on the digital board or tally the points and give regular updates on the score.
  • Add a timer to the lesson. Ask the question and let the students write down as many correct answers as possible with the spun letter within a minute.

I'm going on a trip and I'm taking with me...

How to
Turn by turn, students mention what they are bringing on the trip. The next student must first list the items mentioned by their predecessors before adding their own item to the list. The spinner determines whose turn it is.

  • Click on the spinner
  • Click 'Go' to give a turn to a student
  • Click 'Spin again without ...'

Tip:
  • If students find it difficult to remember the items, suggest they create a mental image with the mentioned items. They can add each item to the 'mental drawing' in their head. This technique often helps with memory retention.
  • Write down the list of items and ask the next day who remembers the most items.

Holiday Destinations Trivial Pursuit

How to:
  • Divide the group into two teams.
  • Spin the spinner. This determines both the question and the color category.
  • Each correctly answered question earns a "round." Place that round on your card. Now it's the other team's turn.
  • Click on 'Spin again without ...'
  • Did a team answer a question incorrectly? Then it's the other team's turn.
  • Because the spinner determines the color, you may already have that color! You must answer the question correctly to proceed.
  • The team that first fills all rounds on their card is the winner.

The answers to the questions can be found in the attachment to this lesson.

Draw your holiday!

How to:
  • Spin the spinner to see what the students need to draw (double-click outside the spinner to exit).
  • Have the students ready to start.
  • Start the timer and let them draw the object in 10 seconds.
  • Decide how many objects you want to have drawn on the sheet.
  • Let the students discuss the results with each other.
Tip:
  • Turn it into a game of Pictionary. Divide the class into two groups. Let one student from each group go outside alternately. The rest of the group members draw the word from the spinner in 10 seconds. Place the drawings in the middle of the room. Bring the two students back in and have them guess what was drawn. A correct answer earns a point."
