General info: debates 

1. Team up with 1 classmate 

2. Choose a topic for your debate you find interesting and is relevant to society

3. Find Leonie to talk about your topic and ask for permission

4. Do research: find everything there is to find about the topic

5. Make an overview of all the information and statements in English

6. Formulate 3 statements and add 3 arguments for each statement

7. Find a team focusing on a different topic. Work together to prepare both debates

• Introduction: subject, why, background story
• 3 statements
• Discuss your arguments for each statement

Introduction

• A captivating story, one that can give your audience basic understandig about the topic
  
• Start with a rhetorical question: Would you like to see a loved one suffer for no reason at all?
  
• Use effective statistics and quotes – it helps to add credibility to your topic/ideas about it. 
  
• Opinion is clearly stated. (for or against)
