Wat is een ontkenning?

Je mag het woordje not achter de werkwoordsvorm zetten:

We are not at home right now.

I am not his mother.

It was not too late.

They were not best friends then.

Verkorte vormen

is not = isn't

are not = aren't

was not = wasn't

were not = weren't

Let op: am not heeft geen verkorte vorm --> ain't = fout!
