Wat weet je al?

Adjectives = bijvoeglijke naamwoorden

  Een adjective zegt iets over een zelfstandig naamwoord.

             Vb. A beautiful car. ("beautiful" zegt iets over "the car".

             Een adjective gebruik je ook na vormen van de werkwoorden:

             be             sound             taste             smell             look             feel

             Vb. He looks beautiful. ("beautiful" zegt iets over "looks".)

De plaatsen van adjectives

Vóór het woord waar ze iets over zeggen

Vb. The amazing spiderman crawled up the building.

Achter de vorm van be, sound, taste, smell, look, feel

I feel great.

This sounds amazing.

They look bad.

Adverbs = bijwoorden

 Een adverb zegt iets over alle andere werkwoorden.

             Vb. Madonna sings beautifully. ("beautifully" zegt iets over "sings".)

             Een adverb zegt ook iets over een ander adverb.

             Vb. She sings really beautifully. ("really" zegt iets over "beautifully"

                                                                            en "beautifully" over "sings".)

             Een adverb zegt ook iets over een adjective.

Vb. The very beautiful man was lonely. ("very" zegt iets over "beautiful"
en "beautiful" zegt iets over "man".)

Hoe maak je een adverb? 1

1. Je zet achter het adjective ly.

             Vb. wonderful -- wonderfully

2. Eindigt het adjective op y dan wordt dit ily. 

             Vb. easy -- easily

3. Eindigt het adjective  op le dan wordt dit ly. 

             Vb. terrible -- terribly

4. Eindigt de adjective op ic dan wordt dit ically.

Vb. fantastic - fantastically

5. Sommige adjectives hebben geen aparte vorm voor de 

             adverb.

             Vb. fast -- fast

                            long -- long

                            hard -- hard

6. Onregelmatig. (Uit je hoofd leren)

             Vb. good -- well
