Divide the bold words in two categories

My friend really likes to make electronic music. He easily sits at his new computer for hours to create funky beats with his synthesizers. Sometimes he quickly records nice sounds and then uses them. For instance, the buzzing of a cable that hung loose became a deep bass line in one of his new songs.
At times, he so engaged in his music that he doesn’t notice much else. Therefore, I can easily surprise him. If I sneak up to him quietly, he will not notice until I am right behind him.
