Comparisons
Usage: Comparisons are used to show how two or more things are similar or different.
2 Forms:
Use "-er" or "more" to compare two things (e.g., "taller," "more interesting").
Example: "She is taller than her brother."
Use "-est" or "most" to show the highest degree (e.g., "tallest," "most interesting").
Example: "She is the tallest in her class."

Slide 3 - Slide

The rules
For short adjectives (one syllable), add "-er" or "-est" (e.g., "big" → "bigger," "biggest").
For longer adjectives (two or more syllables), use "more" or "most" (e.g., "beautiful" → "more beautiful," "most beautiful").
For adjectives ending in "y," change "y" to "i" and add "-er" or "-est" (e.g., "happy" → "happier," "happiest").
