Hi M4D

Slide 1 - Slide

Today's goals:
I know how to use used to correctly

I know the difference between one and ones and how to use them

Slide 2 - Slide

Wanneer gebruik je used to + hele w.w.?

I used to build lego castles.
In the past people used to send letters by post. (but now they send emails)

I used to take the train to college. (now I go by car)

Slide 4 - Slide

Examples

My brother used to be blond as a baby. ( now he has brown hair)

I used to work in a restaurant. (now I'm a teacher)

Slide 5 - Slide

adverbs of frequency
Bij used to kun je een adverb of frequency (bijwoord dat aangeeft hoe vaak iets gebeurd) gebruiken. Bijvoorbeeld: always, regularly, often, once a year, never etc.
I always used to go to the gym on Saturdays.

She used to cycle to work once a week.

We often used to stay out laten  when we were in college.

Slide 6 - Slide

Slide 7 - Slide

Slide 8 - Slide

Forms of used to
  • Bevestigend:  I used to live here. My brother used to be a teacher.
  • Negatief: I didn't use to live here. My brother didn't use to be a teacher.
  • Vragend: Did you use to live here? Did your brother use to be a teacher?

Let op: er bestaat geen tegenwoordige tijd van used to!!
