Slide 5 - Open question
Active
The subject performs an action
My boyfriend

Passive voice
Quite popular in news episodes
In the passive voice it is not that important WHO did the action,
the action/the result is most important
Let's go back to my example:
Slide 7 - Slide
Example
My sister got attacked by pengiuns
I want to emphasize that my sister was a victim
Penguins attacked my sister
I want to emphasize that it was penguins that attacked
Slide 8 - Slide
More innocent example then
My brother
drives
me to school/ I
am driven
to school
My mom
cooks
Italian food / Italian food
is cooked
by my mom.
I
did
the laundry / the laundry
was done
by me
I
washed
the car / the car

by me
