If circumstances are ideal a 
population will have exponential 
growth, this means it doubles 
every generation, so 2, 4, 8, 16, 
32 etc. This goes on till the 
population reaches the carrying 
capacity.

LIMITING FACTORS
When a population reaches the carrying capacity, the growth of the population is slowed down by the limiting factors:
  • oxygen
  • toxic waste
  • overcrowding
  • predators
  • disease
  • climate
  • lack of shelter

When researching plants you're always use a quadrate by calculating a percentage cover.
When researching animals you use the mark, capture and release method.
