Present simple vs present continuous

Welke zin staat in
de present simple?

1. He always wears a hat.
2. We are walking to school at the moment.

De andere zin staat in een andere werkwoordstijd:

de present continuous. 

'We are walking to school at the moment.'

                      Present continuous?

Als deze werkwoordstijd ver weg in je geheugen zit, kan je het filmpje op de volgende slide bekijken. 

Je vormt dus de present continuous door 

onderwerp + to be + werkwoord + ING

     Maar! Er zijn drie uitzonderingen op deze regel. 

Werkwoorden die eindigen op een -e zoals
to make:

1. Je neemt je werkwoord en voegt -ING toe: I am makeing
2. Je laat de -e wegvallen: I am making

Werkwoorden die eindigen op een -y zoals
to lie:

1. Je neemt je werkwoord en voegt -ING toe: You are lieing
2. Je vervangt de -ie door -y: You are lying

Werkwoorden die eindigen op een medeklinker -
klinker - medeklinker en die laatste lettergreep is
benadrukt zoals
to stop:

1. Je neemt je werkwoord en voegt -ING toe: He is stoping
2. Je verdubbelt de laatste medeklinker: He is stopping.

Waar staan de 'adverbs of frequency' in een zin?

1. voor het hoofdwerkwoord 'I often wear a sweater.'
2. achter het hoofdwerkwoord 'I wear often a sweater.'

Geldt deze regel ook voor het werkwoord 'to be'?

1. Ja. 'I always am late.'
2. Nee, dan staat het bijwoord erachter. 'I am always late.'
