When a word ends in a sis sound the plural becomes: +es

The same goes for box

Bus ends in an "s" sound as well

Tomato

When the singular form ends in an "o" the plural form gets "es"

One tomato - two tomatoes

Baby

When the singular form of the noun ends in Y the plural form gets "ies"

one baby - two babies
