1.4 Balloon on a string - Doing research
  • Slowmotion factor --> Balloon in realtime

  • Writing the research report

  • Creating graphs from measurement data

Slide 4 - Slide

Who still needs a print of 1.4?

Slide 5 - Slide

Learning objectives

  • You can write a research report on a research you did.

  • You can create graphs from measurement data.

Slide 6 - Slide

Slowmotion factor
If you used slowmotion to record the balloon, we need to know how long a slowmotion video second lasted in reality:

Look at your 10 s video of the clock, or make it with the same camera.
* See how long 10 seconds on the clock lasts in slowmotion time

* Divide the amount by 10 --> you have the Slowmotion factor
(f.i., it lasts 50 seconds, then your slowmotion factor is 50/10=5)

* Now divide the time your balloon in slow motion takes by the slowmotionfactor
(f.i., slowmotion factor =5. Balloon takes 13 seconds in slowmotion, then 13/5=2,6 s in reality)

Slide 7 - Slide

Research report - see page 22
  • Write the report digitally
  • One page
  • Use all 7 steps, including suggestions
(points can be combined like example page 22)
  • Add an image, like a screenshot of the movie
or photo of your team in action
  • Make your own report, but you can discuss with team mates
  • Hand in, printed, next lesson
  • Will be graded: 1 grade for all practical assignments the year
  • Graded on clearness, tidiness and correct use of numbers, quantities and units
