Adjectives
It says something about a noun (zelfstandig naamwoord).
The green door.  (or: The door is green.)
The round  ball. 
The strong girl.
A clever boy.

Adverbs (bijwoorden)
It can tell you something about:
- an adjective
- a verb
- a whole sentence
- another adverb

Examples:
in front of an adjective:
- He is ridiculously fast.
after a verb:
- They played slowly. 

in front of another adverb:
- She reads extremely quickly. 

in front of a whole sentence:
Fortunately, I have found my keys!

Attention!
When there is a form of the verb "to be", or any of the sense verbs (to look, to smell, to seem, to sound, to taste, to feel)
you use the ADJECTIVE  even though it is used an adverb.
EXAMPLES:
- It tastes wonderful.
- It smells terrible. 
- They look good together.
