- een korte vraag die je achter een zin plakt. 

- daarmee vraag je of iets wat je zegt klopt

- in het Nederlands gebruik je dan: toch? he? Is het niet? of wel?

Regels tag questions

Als de hoofdzin negatief is, dan is de aangeplakte vraag positief.

You aren't a mean person, are you?

I am not a morning person, am I?

Als de hoofdzin positief is, dan is de aangeplakte vraag negatief.

You are really hungry, aren't you?

The Queen is very famous, isn't she?

Let op!

als in de hoofdzin een naam staat, dan gebruik je een persoonlijk voornaamwoord in de aangeplakte vraag.

Susan is your sister, isn't she?

Peter and Jane are not good friends, are they?
