What's the difference between a contrast and a paradox?

Contrast

To set in opposition in order to show the difference or differences between two things

Example: A black and white film with one girl in a red coat 


Paradox

 is a statement that contradicts itself yet may still contain a kernel of truth within that contradiction

Example: Saving money by spending it
