The Passive: Write down everything you know about the passive.

Passive (=lijdende vorm)
Gebruik: om aan te geven wat er gebeurt. Wát er gebeurd of gedaan wordt is dan belangrijker dan wie het doet. Het onderwerp is passief want het ondergaat iets, het doet zelf niets.
Active: Someone hacked my social media page last week.
Passive: My social media page was hacked (by someone) last week.
Tip! Als je 'by zombies' achter het werkwoord kan zetten is het een passive.
Vorm:
Present Simple Passive: am / is / are + (not) + voltooid deelwoord.
Past Simple Passive: was / were + (not) + voltooid deelwoord

Stappenplan
1. In welke tijd staat de zin? (kijk naar andere werkwoorden, signaalwoorden zoals this morning).
2. Zet het lijdend voorwerp vooraan gevolgd door:
A Tegenwoordige tijd = present simple passive -> am / is / are (not) + voltooid deelwoord.
B Verleden tijd = past simple passive -> was / were + voltooid deelwoord.
3. Plak (eventueel) by + het onderwerp achter het werkwoord.
4. Schrijf de rest van de zin op.
