Lesson objective

Students will know how to create a press release proposal based on the web lecture and class exercises, thus preparing them for assignment 2 and will have acquired new language/communication skills in English.

1.   Requirements final article + tips on how to elevate your language skills
2.   Review verb tenses + quiz on Kahoot
3.   Web lecture on writing a press release
4.   Directions/exercise for assignment press release proposal (writing     assignment nr. 2
5. .  Receive your draft article with my feedback

Requirements FINAL fieldtrip article

1. Include cover page.  See Teams environment Lesson 2 for requirements.

2. Include TextAnalyzer - Full B1 level - tips on the next slide.

3. You may write in the first person for article but not for your press release (!)

4.  Highlight the thesis statement in your introduction paragraph.

5.  In your conclusion, refer to the thesis statement so that your article comes 'full circle'.

6.  Upload your final documents in Word format only

7.  Word count is 350 words (+/- 10%)

8.  Include subheadings for ALL paragraphs.

9.  Deadline in Teams environment = 28 September at 17.00.

Tips how to reach a full B1-level (and beyond)

1. Go to Thesaurus.com for synonyms

2. Check the words you have selected in https://dictionary.cambridge.org to make certain the new words make sense in the context of your article.

3. Apply linking words or phrases (verbindingswoorden).
