  1. Read the headline and the first paragraph: what do you think it's about?
  2. The first paragraph usually indicates what the text is about. 
  3. Often it is a mini-summary of the rest of the text.
  4. Read the rest of the text
  5. Is this really an elaboration of the first paragraph?
  6. Also pay close attention to the end of the text: it often mentions the most important things again.

Iemand is iets van plan, of je doet een voor­spelling waar­voor je be­wijs hebt.

Bijvoorbeeld:
Ac­cord­ing to the weath­er fore­cast, it’s go­ing to be a sunny day. 
(voor­spelling met be­wijs).
The Prime Min­is­ter is go­ing to dis­cuss the is­sue at the next meet­ing. (plan)

3. shall of will + het hele werkwoord:

be­loft­es, aankondi­gin­gen en be­sluiten
voor­spellin­gen waar je geen be­wijs voor hebt
Bij I en we in bevesti­gende en ontkennende zinnen mag je shall en will beide gebruiken.
Bij I en we moet je shall gebruiken wan­neer je een vraag stelt (je doet een aan­bod of voor­stel).
The Queen will ad­dress the na­tion in her Christ­mas mes­sage. (aankondi­ging)
