Vaak kun je een zelfstandig naamwoord vervangen voor one als je het herhaalt of als je antwoord geeft op een vraag.

Wanneer je met meervoud te maken hebt gebruik je ones.

- This new bag is black, my old one was green.

-These brown belts are cheaper than the black ones over there. 

present continuous

Hoe maak je de present continuous?

am-is-are + werkwoord+ing

- I am working.
- She is singing. - We are dancing. 

Je kunt in deze zinnen ook de verkorte vorm gebruiken:

- I’m working. - She’s singing. - We’re dancing.

present continuous

Kijk wat deze mensen aan het doen zijn:
  

They are dancing. He is cycling. He is cooking.

Deze mensen zijn op dit moment allemaal iets aan het doen. Als je wilt praten over iets dat nu aan de gang is, gebruik je daarvoor de present continuous’, Het wordt ook wel de -ing-vorm  genoemd.

De zinnen die we zojuist geoefend hebben zijn in de bevestigende vorm. 

Je kan de present continuous ook in ontkennende en vragende vorm schrijven.
