Question tags

 Question tags zijn de korte vragen die je regelmatig terugziet aan het einde van een Engelse zin. Je zou ze kunnen vertalen met "toch?" of "hè?".

Waarom gebruiken de Engelsen een Question Tag?

1. Daarmee stel je een vraag.
2. Om snel nog even de zin vragend te maken.
3. Om bevestiging te vragen.

Question Tags repeat

Question tags 

Na een bevestigende zin ( + ),

komt een ontkennende ( - ) en andersom.

You're at school, aren't you?

He can't hear me, can he?

Hi there, it's Sharon, isn't it?

Question tags

Question tag is een aangeplakte vraag.

- als de hoofdzin - is, is de question tag + en andersom.

- je gebruikt het onderwerp en werkwoord.

You are all fans of the cinema, ... ?

Your parents haven't been to London, ... ?

Mr. Oord loves Netflix, ... ?

 `if it ain't broke, don't fix it'

It is nice weather, ain't it?

We are late, ain't we?

I am quite good at this, ain't I?

The word "ain't" is a contraction for am not, is not, are not, has not, and have not in the common English language vernacular.

Important note: Do not use ain't in writen language
