Slide 23 - Slide
Strategies:
Skimming
(title; picture(s); words in bold or italics; author, etc.);
text: What kind of text is it?
(gap-text, article, letter to the editor, newspaper article, how many questions?, etc.)
Scanning
the text, reading the paragraphs (
ELZA - reading)
reading questions
('open'/'closed'
question, true/false, multiple choice, ty to answer the questions first by yourself, then compare the given ones)
Do you need to know all the difficult words?
Do you need to read the whole text intensively?
Slide 24 - Slide
Let's go!
First text. What kind of text is it? Skim it first.
Look at the question(s). What kind of question is this? Start with the first. Do you know the answer?
Multiple Choice: look for opposites and synonyms in the answers. Choose only one. (unless the assignment is different)
Difficult words you do not know?
