Vaak gebruik je de past simple en de past continuous in 1 zin.

De past continuous benadrukt meer dat de actie een tijdje duurde; je was iets aan het doen. 
Vaak komt er dan een zin met when/while achteraan, om zo te laten zien dat het een gebeurde tijdens het ander 
(bijv. I was walking home, when I heard someone scream).

Vaak gebruik je de past simple en de past continuous in 1 zin.

De past continuous benadrukt meer dat de actie een tijdje duurde; je was iets aan het doen. 
Vaak komt er dan een zin met when/while achteraan, om zo te laten zien dat het een gebeurde tijdens het ander 
(bijv. I was walking home, when I heard someone scream).

Tip: de past continuous duurt altijd langer dan de past simple.
