Louis XVI needed money --> he gathers the States General to approve new taxes
  • 1st estate: 300 people
  • 2nd estate: 300 people​
  • 3rd estate: 600 people
  • However: every estate got 1 vote

  • In Paris riots break out --> angry citizens storm the Bastille and find weapons: this is the start of the French Revolution
