What is happening?

On Saturday, Katie will be one year old. Katie's parents are going to have a birthday party. The party is going to begin at noon on Saturday. Many people will be at the party. Katie will have so much fun!

Katie's dad is going to cook hamburgers. Katie's grandmother is going to bring ice cream. Katie's aunt is going to bake a cake. It will be a chocolate cake. Katie will love her cake!

All of Katie's relatives will bring presents. Katie is going to open her presents after lunch. Then, everyone will eat cake and ice cream. Katie is going to have a good first birthday!

The Future

Er zijn in het Engels 4 manieren om de toekomende tijd te maken:

2. Will/ Shall

  Will/ Shall

Will/ Shall gebruik je al iets in de toekomst gebeurt maar er nog geen concreet plan is, of als je een voorstel doet.

VB: I will compose a song in the future.

Shall gebruik je in vraagzinnen met I en we.

VB: Shall we go to the store?

 to be + going to + hele WW

Je gebruikt to be + going to + hele werkwoord als je iets van van plan bent maar er nog geen concreet plan is.

VB: He is going to write a book this summer.

As soon as the lock down is lifted, I am going to visit the movies.

 Present Continuous

Je gebruikt de present continuous (am/ are/ is + werkwoord + ing) als je zeker weet dat iets in de toekomst gaat gebeuren.

VB: We are seeing that movie tomorrow.

 

 Present Simple

GEBRUIK JE ALLEEN ALS IETS VOLGENS EEN SCHEMA GEBEURD.
