Some adverbs of frequency: Usually, Once a year, Once upon a time, Occasionally
Some adverbs of certainty: Maybe, Perhaps, Naturally
Negative adverbials with inversion: Seldom, Rarely
Adverbs of manner (emphasis!): Carefully, Terribly, Easily

Mid-position adverbs

Adverbs of certainty:  definitely, certainly
Adverbs of indefinite frequence: often, seldom, rarely
Adverbs of manner: quickly, slowly, carefully
Adverbs of completeness: almost, partly
Adverbs of degree: completely, quite, rather
Focus Adverbs: just, even

Rule:
1- Before main verb
2- Between aux. and main verb
3- After verb to be

Adverbs of place:  at school, in the park
Adverbs of time: tomorrow, yesterday
Adverbs of definite frequency: twice a week, yearly, every day

Rule:
When plural adverbs with end position:

manner- place-time

Exam folder 10: Speaking
On page 166 and 167 you'll find Exam folder 10. This folder prepares you for the CPE Speaking Test. Study the instructions carefully.
In groups of 3 (students A, B and C):
Part 1: student A = interlocuter    (2 minutes)
Part 2: student B = interlocuter   ( 4 minutes)
Part 3: student C = interlocuter   ( 8 minutes)

Role interlocuter
When you're the interlocuter you need to:

1.  ask the questions to both students;
2.  time the activities (part 3: both students must each talk for 2 minutes individually, followed by a 2-minute discussion);
3.  assess the students' performance and give feedback (see assessment grid on the next slide).
