What is the difference between Nike and Sketchers?

Think about the answer and raise your hand if you would like to share your answer

What is the difference between someone who wear Nike and someone who wears Sketchers?

Create groups of 5:

Look at the advertisements and answer these questions:

• what are they selling/what is the product?

• How is it advertised? (color, images and words)

• How do you feel about the advertisement?

• What are the differences between the brand add and the dupe add?

Write you answer down because you will be presenting your outcomes

Present your analysis to the other group

Lesson 3: brands and dupes

How do friends, family, and advertisements influence your choices? 

Discuss in English with your partner for 4 minutes

How would someone from Amsterdam Nieuw-West look? And from Amsterdam Zuid?

Draw both of them as specific as possible, include clothing items

Label the clothing items with both the name of the item and the brand

Explain the chosen brands in 50 words on the hand-out

• Why do you think some students are bullied because of their clothing?

• How can we make sure everyone feels comfortable in their clothes at school?
