Game: Physical response
Listen to the questions and answer it by doing the following: 
-Put your hands on on your head if your answer is yes
-Stand on one leg if your answer is no

Questions: 
-Have you ever written a letter/email/postcard in general?
-Have you ever written a letter to someone in English? 
If yes, what information was in the letter? And if not? Why not? 
-If you could write a letter in English to who would you send it and what would you tell/ask the person?
-Do you know the difference between informal and formal language? If yes, explain.
-Do you know how to structure a formal or informal letter? 
What are the differences?

Lesson aim:

You are able to write an informal letter on an A1/A2 CEFR level about your experience(s) regarding covid-19 by using two scaffolds.

Answer the two questions and post this on Padlet: 
-What is an informal letter?
-Who do you think is the recipient (ontvanger)?

In groups of four: 
Take a look at the two letters, what letter is the informal one and why? One group member will post the groups answer on Padlet.

What am I looking for? 


-Use the proper layout format of an informal letter.
-Include at least the five points which are given in their informal letter.
-Give advice to the recipient in the informal letter.
-Use the correct language/vocabulary with the use of grammatical structures on an A1/A2 CEFR level.
-Use 120 to 150 words in the informal letter.

Examine the poor example 
-Think (individually): examine the poor example and take a look at the WILF which is posted on Padlet and answer the two questions below:
1. What are the points that are not included if you take a closer look at the WILF?
2. Looking at the WILF, what can the writer do to make his/her letter sufficient?
-Pair: discuss your answers with each other and come up with together what your final answer is
-Share: One on you will post your final answer on Padlet.

Write your informal letter
-Take a look at your assignment and start writing your informal letter.
-Do not forget to include all the points that are stated in the assignment!

Exchange your informal letter with your classmate
-Give each other feedback by filling in the "peer feedback form"

Correct your informal letter
-Correct your work by looking at the peer feedback you received from your classmate!
-Are you done?
