When do we use Past Continuous?

1. When one action interrupted another

Example: I was walking to school when I suddenly saw an accident.

2. When we want to specifcy an avent was taking longer.

Example: At 10PM last night I was having a bath.

3. When two events were happening at the same time

Example: I was taking a shower while my dog was chewing on his bone.

4. When we are describing an event that happened in the past

E.g: When Miss Salehar walked into the classroom Stef was eating his sandwich, Sanne and Juul were exchanging notes, Filou and Aniek were making a tiktok and only Niels and Sya were studying irregular verbs.

FORM: A piece of 

1. One person (I, he, she, it) -> WAS + verb(ing)

Jane was walking down the street.

2. More people (they, we, you) and you  -> WERE + verb(ing)

The students were doing homework.
