Much: bij zelfstandige naamwoorden die je niet kunt tellen (e.g. money, information, time) in vragende en ontkennende zinnen.

Many: bij zelfstandige naamwoorden die je kunt tellen in vragende of ontkennende zinnen.

Few : bij zelfstandige naamwoorden die je kunt tellen 

Little : bij zelfstandige naamwoorden die je niet kunt tellen.

(e.g. 'put a little love in your heart')

Quantifiers 

Few horses remained in the paddock after cowboys had raided the ranch =  not many horses, emphasis on what is lacking!

There are a few horses left of what once was a very large herd = small number, emphasis on what there is!

We had little time to prepare for the test.

=  emphasis on the fact that there is not a lot of time.

We had a little time to prepare for the test.

= emphasis on the fact that there still is time to prepare for the test albeit not a lot.
