Grammar: some or any

  • They need to eat two sandwiches and three bananas.
  • They need to eat (a) few sandwiches and bananas.

Maar je kunt ook some of any gebruiken (minder specifiek):
  • They need to eat some sandwiches and bananas.
  • They don't need to eat any cucumbers.

Slide 9 - Diapositive

some
  • I have some cookies = Ik heb wat / een paar koekjes.

Slide 10 - Diapositive

any
Bij een negatieve zin gebruik je any:
  • I don't have any cookies = Ik heb geen koekjes.
Bij een vragende zin gebruik je any:
  • Do you have any cookies left? = Heb je wat koekjes over?

Slide 11 - Diapositive

  • Can I please have some water? (asking to a waiter) --> je verwacht JA als antwoord...

  • Would you like to have some coffee?

  • Put on any song you like. I love all kinds of music! --> Maakt niet uit welk nummer je opzet...
  • Give me any food you can find, I am just really hungry. --> Maakt niet uit welk voedsel...
