Relative pronouns verwijzen naar:
who -> persoon
which -> dier, ding
that* -> persoon, dier, ding
whose -> bezit
whom -> persoon (meewerkend/lijdend voorwerp)
* Na een komma gebruik je nooit 'that'!

Soms kunnen we ook that gebruiken i.p.v. who of which.
Dit kan wanneer de bijzin waar who / which in staat niet weggelaten kan worden zonder dat de zin onduidelijk wordt of van betekenis veranderd.

WHOSE
We gebruiken whose om aan te geven van wie iets is of waar iets bij hoort.
He is the man whose guitar was stolen.
Is that the dog whose owner always plays the drums?

We gebruiken een voorzetsel (with, to, about, for, etc.) + whom om terug te verwijzen naar personen. Deze personen zijn vaak het object (meewerkend/lijdend voorwerp) in de zin.
