1. We will play the "apprentice game" in groups 
2.Learn about implicit bias
3. Get in your groups and talk about the discussion scenarios we have provided for you
4. As a group you will share about the scenario to the rest of the class

Instructions for activity
-In your groups, you will pretend you are the boss' assistant. 
-You are given the task to fire 6 out of the 7 newest workers.  
-This will be done in 7 different rounds. Each round you will learn something new about each candidate. 
-You must choose who to fire and who will be your apprentice.

Example of implicit bias
You are a white male entering the train. 
Without realizing it, you automatically sit next to another white male out of comfortability. Unconsciously you are less comfortably sitting next to a black person

Take a moment to think: are the any examples that you can think of in relation to implicit bias? (ex. gender, skin color, age, disability, mental illness, sexuality)

In your groups:
You will be given a worksheet with scenarios on them. In your group you can discuss whether or not your think implicit bias was present in the form of stereotypes, age, gender, or skin color discrimination. 

You will be asked to share your opinion on one of the scenarios.
