1. Stomme E: ww eindigt met -e =  -e weglaten.                                          arrange -> was arranging

2. ww eindigt met een korte klinker + medeklinker = medeklinker verdubbelen =  plan -> planning

3. ww met meer lettegrepen eindigt met -l = dubbel L                               travel -> travelling
