primary sexual characteristics
The sexual characteristics that are already present at birth are known as the primary sexual characteristics. 

• Boy: the penis and scrotum.
• Girl: vulva (labia, clitoris and vaginal opening).

CONTRACEPTIVES
  • Contraceptives literally means "to stop conception", which means to stop fertilisation.
  •  Nowadays contraceptives can also be used to stop the spread of diseases.

Unsafe: coitus interruptus and calendar rhythm method
Condom
Prevents sperm cells to enter. Protects against STI's.
Pill
Contains estrogen and progesterone which prevent ovulation and maturing of egg cells.
Contraceptive patch and implant
Release hormones that prevent ovulation.
Copper or hormonal coil (IUD or IUS)
Decreases fertility of sperm cells and prevents implantation.
Sterilisation
Permanently blocking sperm ducts or fallopiian tubes (surgical procedure).

This create a physical wall between the sperm cells and egg cells, this sometimes also protects against STD's.
