Used to and would + infinitive

Both are used for: Past habits that do not happen now

-we used to stay at the campsite every year

NOT -we used to stay at the campsite last July (that's only once)

Would: to emphasize that the action is typical of a person or situation

- when we were little, it would always rain/dad would always dress up for my birthday

5a. we use .... or .... for repeated past actions or habits that do not happen now

5b. We can also use ... or the past simple for states (state verbs) in the past that have changed or are different now
