Short adjectives with the comparative: use -er
Ex. He is shorter than his brother

Long adjectives with the comparative: use ´more´
Ex. She is more beautiful than her friend

Place of the Adverbs
An adverb indicates how something happens 
(how quickly, how often, how beautifully, and so on). 

So an adverb gives some more information about an other word in the sentence, or the whole sentence.

Examples: never, always, ever, only, also, already.

These adverbs usually come before the main verb
She has never been here before.
Have you ever seen an elephant up a tree?
I have only heard the song once.
