- Triple Alliance
- Stance of neutrality
- No attacking against enemy powers
- No defending own powers

Why was Italy so dissatified?

Hoping for part for Germany, Austrian-Hungarian empire & Ottoman empire
 - Only part of Austrian-Hungarian empire 
           -  Triest, southen Tirol, northern Dalmatia, etc.

Italy made boldest move of the war:
- Shifting allies
        - Decreasing reputation as political power -> no one could trust Italy
 
Italy only getting "left over" territory made the public very dissatisfied, and started to blame this on the government

As war progressed:

- Italy decided help with the fighting
- The Triple Alliance 
- The Triple Entente
- Declared war against the central powers

Why?

Reason 1.

Britain promised Italy
 - Better territory
 - Monetarily gains
                     - If they joined the allies and                          won
If Italy stayed neutral with the Central Powers
 - Not much territory
 - No monetarily at all

Why did Italy do this?
Reason 2.

Italy had to fight with Austria-Hungary
 - a previous rival
 - German had somehow get them together

So when Italy had the change to leave, they took it.
