Vragen en ontkenningen in Past Simple

Bij alle werkwoorden (regelmatig en onregelmatig) hetzelfde:

(?) Vragen: Did + onderwerp + hele werkwoord

(-) Ontkenningen: Onderwerp + didn't + hele werkwoord

Past Simple with 'used to'

Past Simple with 'used to'

The form 'used to' is used with all subjects:

I used to live...

He/she/it used to live...

We used to live...

You used to live...

They used to live...

Conclusion

You use 'used to' to when we talk about habits or states we were in the past, but which are not true anymore. 

- She used to go away on long trips.

When it's a question or negative sentence you say 'Did ...use to' / did not instead of 'used to'.

- He didn't use to wear nice clothes. / -  What did you use to go to London for?

Past Continuous

Hoe maak je die?

De regel is vrij eenvoudig:

• Past Continuous = was / were + werkwoord+ing

1. was hoort bij enkelvoud (I, he, she, it)
2. were hoort bij meervoud en bij you (you, we, you, they)

Past Continuous

Wanneer gebruik je Past Continuous?

Eigenlijk is het heel simpel, want er geldt maar 1 regel:

• Je gebruikt de Past Continuous om te zeggen dat iets in het verleden een tijdje duurde of een tijdje aan de gang was. 

• Het verschil met de Past Simple is dus dat de Past Simple gaat om een moment, terwijl de Past Continuous gaat over een langere gebeurtenis.

Situatie:

De laatste tijd had je veel tijd met je opa/oma doorgebracht. Hij/Zij vertelde aan jou hoe het leven vroeger was, wat voor kind hij/zij was, wat hij/zij deed etc. 

Je wil alle informatie in je presentatie verwerken.
