Unit 5, lessons 21 + 22

What do you remember of the previous (vorige) lesson?
  • You talked about the story in the book
  • You read through, and hopefully learnt, the vocabulary for lesson 22
  • You practiced with grammar: possesion (bezit). Check the next two slides for last week's explanation, followed by some practice questions.

  • plural (meervoud)
Does the word end with -s? --> use ' (My parents' car / The boys' lockerroom)
Does the word not end with -s? --> use 's (The women's hats / The people's choice / The children's toys)

We're talking about people, plural (the students), and the word ends with -s, so we use '

3. 's
