What shampoo do we use before a perm?

Clarifying shampoo
Clarifying shampoo removes any dirt, product etc from the hair which could cause a barrier between the hair and the perm lotion

How do we gown a client up for a perm?

Why do we spray the cotton wool with water?

To dilute any perm lotion that may soak into it.

Cotton wool should be changed after about 5 minutes to prevent irritation

How to you prepare yourself for perming?

Gloves must be worn when applying the perm lotion, checking development and neutralising

How do you apply the perm lotion?

Starting at the front, you apply 3 lines across the rods.

Hold cotton wool behind the rod you are applying to to catch any excess lotion

How do you know when the perm is ready to neutralise?

What are the steps of neutralising?

Remember the rule of 5!!!!!!
Rinse for 5 minutes
Blot dry
Apply neutraliser using a sponge and leave for 5 minutes
Remove the rods and apply more neutraliser for 5 minutes
Rinse and apply an anti-oxidant conditioner
