- Als je hebt het over dingen die gaan gebeuren (in de toekomst)

- Over feiten/gewoontes in de toekomst. 

Bijv:

What will you do / are you going to do this weekend?

1. I am going to a friends' party.​

2.  I will go for a walk. 

3. The bus leaves to Marken at 9 o'clock.

Future

- Je gebruikt de volgende werkwoorden als je hebt het over de toekomst:

1. to be going to

2. will

3. present simple

to be going to

1.  voorspelling (zeker) ​

 bijv:  Look at the clouds.​ It is going to rain today. 

​

2.  plan (gepland)​

bijv:  We are going to visit the museum today. I bought the ticket last week. ​

Vorm: to be going to + hele ww

 will

1.   voorspelling (onzeker)​

bijv:    I think the weather will be fantastic today.​​

2.    plan (spontaan)​

bijv:  I am tired mum. Wait, I will help you.​​ 

3.  belofte ​

bijv:  I will marry you.

voor afspraken die je hebt gemaakt die nog gaan plaatsvinden.

bijv: 3. My dentist is taking care of my teeth tomorrow.
