Possessive pronouns

we hebben het natuurlijk gehad over subject pronouns, persoonlijke voornaamwoorden. Waar verwijst dit ook alweer naar? Mensen, groepen mensen, zonder ze bij hun naam te noemen. Dus bijvoorbeeld niet Appie goes to the supermarket, maar he goes to the supermarket. 

Wie weet wat possessive pronouns zijn? Bezittelijke voornaamwoorden. Dit geeft dus aan van wie iets is. Als 'leerling' wil zeggen: dit is mijn tas. Dan zegt 'leerling': it is my bag.

Bezittelijke voornaamwoorden = possessive pronouns

Je gebruikt ze om aan te geven van wie iets is. 

Het woord zegt het al: bezit!

Voorbeeld:

She is my best friend = Ze is mijn beste vriendin

Bezittelijke voornaamwoorden 

my = mijn                                  He is my friend

your = jouw                              He is your friend (enkelvoud)

his = zijn                                    He is his friend

her = haar                                 He is her friend

its = zijn/haar                          He is its friend/Every bird likes its own nest

our = onze                                 He is our friend

your = jullie                               He is your friend (meervoud)

their = hun                                 He is their friend
