Gerund
Een gerund (ww. + -ing) gebruik je als een zelfstandig naamwoord. 
Je kunt een gerund gebruiken:
1. Als onderwerp:
                   Eating is my favourite hobby.
                   Having a friend like you is great!

2. Na werkwoorden als love, hate, stop, keep on, 
                   I love travelling
                   They stopped seeing each other for a while.

- Na werkwoorden waarmee je aangeeft wat je wel of niet leuk vindt (like, dislike, love, hate, fancy, envy):

- Na zintuigelijke werkwoorden (see, watch, hear, smell, feel):
- Na de specifieke werkwoorden avoid, consider, give up, go on, keep, manage, mind, prefer, recommend, start, stop, finish en suggest:
